What is worth reporting
All of it is worth reporting. You do not need to be certain, and you will not be wasting anyone’s time with a report that turns out to be nothing.
Safety
- Anything suggesting a person is under eighteen
- Threats, harassment or intimidation
- Blackmail, or pressure using photographs
- Someone who will not accept being told no
Money
- Requests for fare, fees, deposits or emergencies
- Payment instructions claiming to come from us
- Prices that do not match the pricing page
- Offers of escrow, refunds or guarantees
Honesty
- Photographs taken from someone else
- Someone impersonating our desk or staff
- Claims of verification or official approval
- Invented reviews and testimonials
Content
- A listing that is out of date or disconnected
- Your own details published without consent
- Explicit material in a comment
- Suspicious links, or a page that looks tampered with
What to include
- Where it is. The page address, or the name of the listing. If you arrived here from the listing, the form has already filled this in for you.
- Who is involved. The username, the display name, or the number used to contact you.
- What happened briefly and in your own words. What was asked of you, and how it was put.
- How to reach you if you want a reply. This is optional, a report without an email address is still read and still acted on.
Do not paste your banking details, PIN, identity document or full M-Pesa messages into this form. The transaction code and the number involved are enough for us. Keep the full records for your mobile money provider and the police, who can act on them in ways we cannot.
What happens next
Your report is stored privately. It is never published, it does not appear in search results, and the person you reported is not told who reported them. A person on the desk reads it, looks at the listing or comments concerned, and checks whether anything else has been reported about the same person.
Depending on what we find, a comment may be removed, a listing corrected or withdrawn, or access blocked. Anything involving a minor, a credible threat of violence, or organised fraud is removed first and escalated. If you gave us a way to reply, you will hear back.
We cannot recover money that has already been sent, act outside this website, or tell you a person’s real identity. Where something belongs with the police or your mobile money provider, we will say so plainly rather than let you wait on us.
